FORESTRY ENGINEER

As a forestry engineer, you will carry out responsible work in various tasks within the forest bioeconomy. Employment opportunities can be found in the forest industry, forestry associations, forest service companies, the Finnish Forest Centre, and Metsähallitus.

In your role as a forestry engineer, you will plan and implement forest management, collect and utilise forest resource data, or work in timber purchasing. You may also be involved in supervising timber harvesting and transportation, advising forest owners, or working as a forest service entrepreneur. The growth of the forest bioeconomy ensures increasingly better employment prospects for forestry engineers. Bioeconomy and the circular economy are integrated into the curriculum.

The degree comprises 240 ECTS credits. The forestry engineer studies are currently only available in Finnish.
