Our range of services includes expert services in the natural resources sector, as well as student work, such as theses. In addition, we offer entrepreneurs the opportunity to utilise the versatile equipment and facilities of our Biolab at various stages of the product development process.

The price depends on the scope of the service. We provide a free cost estimate and propose alternative solutions based on your needs. If applicable, customers may also make use of funding opportunities such as Business Finland’s Innovation Voucher.

Expert services at the Biolab

At the Biolab, located on the Rovaniemi campus, we can offer expert and product development services to, for example, companies in the natural resources sector.

 

The facilities and equipment, designed especially for the further processing of natural products, enable various stages of the product development process. Available equipment includes freeze dryers, dryers, extraction devices, a test kitchen with professional kitchen equipment, packaging machinery such as chamber and table vacuum machines, as well as various laboratory equipment.

 

Additionally, there is extensive expertise and research data related to natural products and by-products. We offer expert assistance in process design and optimisation, as well as the opportunity to utilize the specialized expertise and equipment of partnering organisations in our network.​

Hygiene passport

We offer training and testing sessions for the hygiene passport in both Finnish and English. The training can be delivered either remotely or on-site at the client’s premises, or at the Lapland University of Applied Sciences campuses in Rovaniemi, Kemi, or Tornio. According to regulations, the hygiene passport test must be conducted in person. The training is primarily delivered by Petri Muje.

Preparatory training for completing the Nature Management Card

We offer preparatory training for completing the forest sector Nature Management Card. The competence tests for the Nature Management Card are organised by Tapio Ltd.

 

The target groups for the training include forest machine operators and those working in forestry and forest management, harvesting planners, students in the forest sector, as well as forest owners who wish to deepen their expertise in nature management in commercial forests.

The contents of the preparatory training include, for example:

  • Regulations and recommendations for safeguarding forest biodiversity

  • Protection of forest habitats and species, as well as nature management

  • Methods of nature management in commercial forests

  • Diversifying forest management practices

  • Water management in forestry and preventing watercourse loading
